How do you define the impact your venture is creating — or intends to create — within your community or other Indigenous communities? Please describe: Who this impact is for? What is changing as a result of your venture? How you currently know (or plan to know) that this impact is happening? (300–500 words)
(Required)
Fireweed understands impact as contextual and community-defined — not one-size-fits-all. For some ventures, impact may look like high-quality jobs and training in Indigenous communities; access to essential services in remote regions; environmental risk mitigation (e.g. wildfire, water, food systems); language, culture, or land stewardship; community wealth-building; or profitability paired with intentional reinvestment (such as scholarships, bursaries, or community giving). Representation and visibility of Indigenous leadership can also be an impact in itself.
What would make this program a success for you?
(Required)
What is the most significant achievement of your business so far?
(Required)
Where do you want this business to be in 5 years?
(Required)
I understand Fireweed’s program is grounded in Indigenous values, anti-oppression, and relational accountability
